We're Paul and Penny, Hedgehog Kitchen's Father and Daughter team.
Paul is a Cabinet Maker/Carpenter by trade and has been running his own Joinery workshop (Lovewood Wiltshire) for over 15 years, alongside fitting kitchens and bedrooms for larger companies. He is a treasure trove of knowledge for anything wood related and an all-round perfectionist, exactly what you want from someone designing and fitting your kitchen.
I'm Penny, after 7 years as a stay-at-home Mum and a part time events manager, I made the leap in 2017 to go back into full-time work. Not wanting to go back to an office job I took up the offer to become Paul's apprentice and start a new career in kitchen installation and joinery. I love fitting furniture and kitchens, using my hands and meeting new people. I also love the surprised look on peoples faces when I come to fit their kitchen in my Pink dungarees - not exactly what they expect!
In January 2018 we bit the bullet and decided to launch our own kitchen design, supply and installation project, The Hedgehog Kitchen Company. Just 2 years in and we've learned so much, gained better supplier relationships and navigated the ups and downs of the kitchen world, with so many happy customers and fantastic projects under our belt.
2020 brings us the help of Becky, our new business manager, with years of experience in the kitchen industry she will be taking the lead on all kitchen designs, sales and co-ordination. This will help keep our service seamless and allow Paul and I to concentrate on installation.
We look forward to working with you in 2020 to give you the kitchen of your dreams!
Why the Hedgehog?
We pride ourselves on being a responsible, environmentally kinder company. We recycle all our waste, we don't even use plastic bin bags! No wood goes to waste, if we can't use it for our gorgeous chopping boards we donate it to local schools and therapy workshops. We even use the sawdust in our gardens!
Hedgehogs are our thing - and here's some helpful advice on how you can help protect our beautiful but dwindling spiky neighbours.
As you can probably tell we love our environment, which is why, for every full kitchen re-fit we donate £20 to a local Wildlife centre of your choice (Our Favourites are Oak & Farrows or Goat Acre Sanctuary).
