Got a question? Don't hesitate to contact us - we're happy to help.
How are your kitchens so competitively priced?
We have no showroom overheads and no sales team. Being a small family run business means we can keep our prices low while delivering the best quality and customer service you could ask for. We also work on referrals and reputation so our marketing budget is kept as low as possible.
Do you offer a free home measurement and design service?
Yes, either Penny or Paul can pop over to measure your kitchen and listen to your ideas. We have samples and catalogues you can browse through, as well as plenty of expert advice to help you make the choice that’s right for you.
We will go away and work on a plan for your kitchen based on your ideas, lifestyle and what will work best in your unique space.
Do you have a showroom?
No, we don’t. There’s so many showrooms in and around Swindon for you to browse around and get ideas from. Not having a manned showroom is one of the ways we’re able to keep your costs as low as possible.
See what you like at a showroom? We guarantee we can supply and fit it for you, only cheaper!
We come to you with our samples and catalogues, giving us a chance for a proper chat and to have a look at the space your working with.
Can I visit your Wootton Bassett workshop and office?
Yes, of course. We have samples and catalogues in our office and are happy for customers to pop over for a chat. It is however, a working environment, not a showroom. We’re also often on site so please do phone us before you make the trip, as we may not be in.
Do I need a complete re-fit or just a face-lift?
If you want to keep the general layout of your kitchen and your cabinets are still good and sturdy, a face-lift may be your best option. We can change as much or as little as you like. Usually we change the doors and drawer fronts as a starting point, moving onto moldings, worktops, sinks etc depending on your budget. This option is less expensive, with less disruption.
However, if you’d rather a complete redesign, or maybe your kitchen cabinets have seen better days, a complete refit is best. All new cabinets, and worktop - made to your exact requirements, teamed with new doors and drawer fronts. Again you choose how much more you want to change, new sink, appliances, even new flooring!
Respray or new doors?
Resprays are great if you have good quality doors and you like the style of door, the’re just looking a bit tired and tatty, or you just fancy a new colour and finish. Not all doors can be resprayed though and in these cases, new doors are the best option.
Where are your kitchens manufactured?
Our kitchens are either handmade in our Wootton Bassett based workshop or bought from a number of local suppliers, all our materials are made in Britain.
Do you offer a guarantee on your kitchens?
Yes, all kitchens come with a guarantee to give you peace of mind. We have guarantees covering all units, doors, hinges and handles at no extra cost to you.
We also arrange to drop by 3 months after installation just to check how your enjoying your new kitchen and make sure any adjustments are seen too.
Where is the wood sourced from to manufacture your kitchens?
We only use wood from responsible origins that are FSC compliant. We source our materials as locally as possible to reduce any transport.
Do you recycle?
We pride ourselves on being a responsible, environmentally kinder company. We recycle all our waste, we don't even use plastic bin bags!
No good wood goes to waste, if we can't use it for our gorgeous chopping boards we donate it to local schools and therapy workshops. We even use the sawdust in our gardens!
What type of payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards but prefer bank transfers or cash/cheque.
When do I need to pay?
A 50% deposit is required when your order is placed. The remaining balance will only be required after your kitchen has been finished and you’re happy.
Do you offer any finance options?
No, we don’t offer finance for our customers. Finance is ultimately never free and being an ethically lead small business it’s not something we can, or would want to offer our customers. You can usually find a better deal with a bank then you can a kitchen company.
Although it’s worth bearing in mind, as our kitchen are less expensive than the leading companies it’s less likely to be an issue anyway. We will also always stick within your budget when designing a kitchen and will never try to sell you something you cannot afford.
How quickly will you be able to start work on my new kitchen?
We can normally offer you an installation slot of around 4 weeks from the date you pay your deposit. We can work around you to find a good date for work to commence.
We always keep you updated so we’ll remind you we are coming 5 days before we are due and you’ll know what time to expect us.
Who can I speak to once my order has been placed?
It’s just Penny and Paul here at Hedgehog Kitchens so you’ll know us by name and know who to talk too, from the moment we measure up, to kitchen completion. We’re here to keep you updated with the progress of your kitchen and will be happy to help answer any of your questions.
Can I change my existing order?
Any changes to a kitchen must be advised as soon as possible and depending on what’s already been made, may incur a charge for extra materials and time. We’re not happy until you’re happy, so if something isn’t quite how you like it, let us know and we’ll endeavor to find a suitable solution.
When will my kitchen be delivered?
We will bring your kitchen with us bit by bit when we start installation – no one wants a house full of kitchen parts while waiting for it to be fitted!
What about appliances such as ovens, fridge-freezers and washing machines?
There’s so much choice out there and really good internet deals at your fingertips that we usually advise customers to choose and order their own appliances. This gives you the best choice and budget options. All we need is the serial number of any new appliance you have bought so we know it’s sizes and design.
